Armed with a pile of markers and a stack of white printer paper, I crafted my third artistic contribution to the Reckless Abandonment stop motion team.
This time we tackled the 1966 “Batman Theme.” Oklahoma City folk-based band O Fidelis created a killer cover, and Kyle Roberts contributed countless hours of action figure animation. The results are a heaping helping of nostalgia with a twist. Kyle Roberts and I started this TV stop motion voyage a year ago with a double punch of successful TMNT and X-Men videos. My job has remained the same during each project. As art director, I have to figure out an economical and colorful way to re-create each show’s background. Although it’s very time consuming, the results always explode my expectations.
I can’t think of a more fun passion project. Keep your eyes peeled for more fun in the future.
