When Matt Stansberry and The Romance made a pit stop at Sun Studio last year, they had no idea what they’d gotten themselves into.
A brief tour of the famed Memphis studio turned into a recording session six months later after Ples Hamilton fell in love with a CD the band left behind. I followed the 10-peice soul act as they drove to Tennessee, recorded three new songs and taped an episode of the Sun Studio Sessions.
It was an amazing opportunity for the Oklahoma City-based band and a great chance for me to document some history in the making. I’m very proud of my photos.
