I got invited to shoot the second edition of Wiggle Out Loud.
Thanks a bunch to the Sugar Free Allstars who bring this event to life.
One of my portraits of Kristen Vails made it onto the back cover of the March 15 issue of This Land. You can find the article here and see why Vails is the Queen of the Plaza District. Also, she’s quite an artist.
I hung out with the Coffee and Riffs gang Saturday morning. Basically, it’s a live music improvisational mandatory hangout that’s more fun than sleeping in on Saturday mornings. And there’s coffee. And it’s a lot of fun. They even made me participate and didn’t shun me when I spilled coffee. Above is Ryan Lindsey of Broncho working with Brady Smith (mustache) and Seth McCarroll (camera).
Check out a bunch of episodes of Coffee and Riffs here and look for a story soon.
My girlfriend, better known as Emily Ifill, emceed a robot competition this weekend at the Cox Convention Center. I grabbed a shot of her running the show. Way to go girl.

The back page of the Tulsa-based periodical This Land is reserved for Oklahomans who are blazing a trail inside and outside of the state. I was hired to shoot a few humans located in Oklahoma City and Brian Hearn was selected.
He’s the film curator at the Oklahoma City Museum of Arts and has the coolest job in the world. He spends his days watching movies and figuring out what gets played in the museum and deadCENTER. Pretty rad if you ask me. I grabbed this photo inside the art museum, which is my favorite theater in Oklahoma City.
Director John Wells visited Oklahoma City during an early premiere of his movie “August: Osage County” in November. He talked about shooting in Bartlesville and working with a hugely talented ensemble cast. I snapped a few shots of Wells while The Oklahoman’s George Lang used his interview powers.
Shooting Wells is probably the closest I will get to meeting Meryl Streep and/or Julia Roberts. I’ll cherish the moment. His latest film has received mixed reviews but you can judge it for yourself starting this weekend. I can promise it’s worth a watch.
Check out Lang’s full feature and interview with Wells here.

The poet has a soul warmer than the red dirt that defines Oklahoma. I really enjoyed my short time with her. Check out Lauren’s latest poetry book and see her if she’s ever performing in your neck of the woods.
Last night, I had an eventful night shooting with the Flaming Lips and three lasers that would most definitely shoot your eye out. Keep your eyes peeled for some new Lips live videos.
I made my first visit to Moore today to shoot an interview. Musician Joey Wallace spoke to me about losing his house and much of the block he lived on. This was shot in front of where his house stood. The video I’m working on will be shown at the Music 4 Moore concert and will also feature interviews with Colourmusic, Sherree Chamberlain, Skating Polly and more.
My friends and I stopped by the Paseo Arts Festival and let’s just say it was bubbling with artwork, music and an alarming amount of carnival food. Let’s hope no one gets an art attack. But seriously, you still have time to enjoy the festival tomorrow. It’s well worth a walk around.
Okie musician Jacob Abello’s newest project Prettyboy invited me to direct and shoot their first music video. Expect plenty of champagne, haircuts, glamor and plenty of class. You’ll see the outcome when Jacob releases his Kickstarter project later this summer.
This is Josh Cote hanging out with his wire sculptures at the Festival of the Arts in downtown Oklahoma City. My favorite is the bunny on the bike.
I’m going to be shooting promo footage for the Arts Council of Oklahoma City this week. There’s a good chance you’ll see me around the festival eating Indian Tacos and Chicken & Waffles. Oh, and filming. I must not forget to do that.
Text me to remember to film.
