“Some things don’t heal.”
Pretty unbelievable Fresh Air interview with Austin artist Sam Baker. He’ll be at the Blue Door on Aug. 8.
I grabbed these bluegrass cats before their set opening for John Fullbright at the Myriad Botanical Gardens. They played me this original tune.

Two of my co-workers and I covered Norman Music Festival like there was no tomorrow. I’m very proud of the results. Between the three of us we saw more than 30 acts.
Here’s the rad story we wrote about the free three-day festival. Plus, my Day 1 and Day 2 highlights. I’ve also added a playlist below with the audio from the video sessions we shot throughout Norman, and there’s a lot more photos after the jump and here.

I was invited to tell a story at the debut “Evening of Nostalgia” event last month. The resulting audio just got posted. The theme was beginnings, and I told a story about my triple knee surgery. My friend Jonathan Fowler talked about getting his first tattoo. Guthrie folk outfit Stranded by the Station played some tunes and Samantha Crain performed a set that included some new songs. My favorite is right here.
The latest installment of the “Evening of Nostalgia” series is Monday. Here are the details.
