I’ve never fought back tears during a shoot.
That was until I drove past Moore, OK. The damage from the tornados in the summer of 2013 was horrific. But that’s where the story was hiding, and it was my mission to find it. During a freelance stint at VI Marketing & Branding, I helped shoot and edit a series of videos for the Oklahoma State Department of Health. Each video focused on disaster preparedness. The most challenging video was obviously tornado safety. The wounds from the disaster were less than a couple of weeks old when we started gathering footage in Moore.
The project resulted in six OKC gold Addy awards. Matt Lowery and the video team at VI did a stellar job of piecing the videos together and polishing them to fine shine. I hope they help people prepare for the worst.
