Chase Kerby gives a shit.
The Okie has been writing songs for several years. I was in high school when I first met him, and I’ll never forget his enthusiasm toward his art. It’s infectious. He’s continued to perform tirelessly throughout Oklahoma and has had a few scratches at fame touring with the All-American Rejects and getting way farther on NBC’s “The Voice” than anyone reading this.
When Chase asked me to work on a Kickstarter video, I aimed to make something simple and plainspoken. I think we nailed it. Tim Katz joined the shoot to light the set and he did a great job. Every Kickstarter I do for musicians usually involves a performance aspect because the video can come in handy after the campaign ends. That’s what you’re watching above.
It was a pretty simple shoot. One mic. One guitar. Chase nailed the song on the first take. We replayed the audio and shot a few more angles. We knocked it out in two hours.
Congrats to Chase for raising $9,000. You can watch the 2 minute Kickstarter video, which includes an interview, right here.
